The aim of the scheme is to reduce the impact of roadworks.

Essential overnight repair work on Wawne Road

Essential carriageway repairs will be carried out on Wawne Road from Monday October 25.

The work will be carried out overnight, between 7.30pm and 6.30am, and is expected to take up to a week to complete.

To allow the work to take place safely, the Wawne Road/Sutton Road (Wawne) roundabout will be closed off during these hours. A signed diversion route will be in place.

Access will be maintained at all times for emergency service vehicles. Bus services will continue as normal and bin collections will not be affected.

Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for roads, highways and transport, said: “The renewal of this section of Wawne Road is essential in order to provide a safe and even surface for traffic.

“To minimise disruption, this work will be carried out overnight and in phases. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.”

The works will be carried out by Wright Civil Engineering Ltd on behalf of Hull City Council.

Letters have been sent to businesses and residents in the affected area.
