Road closures planned for essential resurfacing works in Bilton Grange

Essential resurfacing work will be carried out on Barham Road, Bilton Grange, from Monday 29 November.

The work, between Nestor Grove and Thanet Road, will be carried out in two phases on the following dates:

  • From Monday 29 November to Sunday 19 December, Barham Road will be closed from No. 251 to No. 271.
  • From Monday 10 January to Sunday 30 January, Barham Road will be closed from No. 202 to No. 228.

Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for highways and transport, said: “Because of the condition of Barham Road, it is vital that we renew the surface to ensure it is safe for traffic.

“To allow the work to be carried out safely, we will have to temporarily close sections of the road. The closures will be in two phases to minimise disruption and avoid any impact on families getting together over the Christmas and New Year period.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank residents in advance for their patience.”

There will be no vehicular access to the closed sections during the works. Disability access will be maintained at all times, as well as access for medical reasons. Pedestrian footways will not be affected.

Bus services for the stops between Barham Road and Staveley Road will be diverted along Nestor Grove.

The work is being carried out by Wright Civil Engineering Ltd on behalf of Hull City Council.
