Hull City Council has given the city a green boost by installing 26 new electric vehicle charge points for council fleets, residents and visitors.
The council has installed 16 charge points at Pryme Street car park and four at its Stockholm Road Depot to support the push towards zero-carbon vehicles driven by staff.
And public charge points have been added to the ones at Osbourne Street car park, with four new points at the Hull History Centre in Worship Street and two at Lowgate surface car parks.
The local authority has added the charging points to support the growth of electric vehicles in its fleet and among members of the public.
The move supports Hull City Council’s aim to be carbon neutral by 2030 after declaring a climate emergency in March last year.
Councillor Hale, portfolio holder for economic investment, regeneration and planning, land and property at Hull City Council said: “This is yet another important step for the council in meeting its carbon neutral ambition for its own vehicles, as well as increasing the number of public charge points available at council car parks for our residents and visitors.”
