Albert Avenue Pools and Fitness, including a new outdoor lido and splash pad, fitness gym and class studio, will open to the public tomorrow.
Following extensive investment and indoor transformation, the west Hull facility will welcome users back from Friday (25 August) at 9.30am for the first time since its closure in October 2021. Free swimming sessions in the lido will be available all day for anyone attending.
The centre now boasts a 60-station fitness gym which contains brand new cardio and resistance machines, Olympic free weights equipment and a functional fitness rig including a resistance sled, providing customers with a fantastic strength and cardio workout.
A brand-new fitness studio contains an immersive virtual fitness experience where customers will be able to enjoy hundreds of classes on screen. In addition, the studio will host cardio, core and holistic fitness classes in an environment which can be tailored for the type of session taking place.
Outdoors the lido has been completely refurbished and repurposed for outdoor swimming and water play and will be heated seasonally from May through to September with the lido heated to an average of 28 degrees celsius. This year will see the pool heating extended through to October for residents to enjoy the outdoor swim experience.
The lido will continue to be in use throughout the year by a number of clubs including Kingston Kayak Club and Humberside Water Polo Club.
