Essential overnight resurfacing works will take place in Chamberlain Road and Stoneferry Road from Monday 6 December in the latest phase of the multimillion-pound Stoneferry improvement scheme.
The work, which is expected to last about a week, will be undertaken overnight in order to minimise disruption. Work will be carried out from 7pm to 6am, Monday to Friday (including Saturday morning).
During the work, the Chamberlain/Stoneferry roundabout and part of Chamberlain Road will be closed (see below). Traffic will be required to exit Chamberlain Road via James Reckitt Avenue.
Access to Lorraine Street will be as normal from the Ferry Lane roundabout, with traffic marshals to escort vehicles through the works. A similar arrangement will be in place for vehicles leaving Lorraine Street towards Chamberlain Roundabout.
Fully signed diversions will be in place.
Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways said: “With the Stoneferry improvement scheme, we are improving access and use for thousands of residents and businesses in the area.
“These closures will be overnight in order to minimise disruption and ensure this stage of the works can be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.
“Noise mitigation has been a core consideration in the selection of equipment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
