Essential resurfacing work will take place on Sutton Road next month as part of the Stoneferry Corridor improvement scheme.
The work will repair the section of road in front of the Aldi supermarket and will be undertaken over one weekend in order to minimise disruption.
From 8pm on Friday 8 April until 6am on Monday 11 April, Sutton Road will be closed in both directions between the Holwell Road/Sutton Road roundabout and Ennerdale roundabout.
A signed diversion will be in place, with traffic diverted via Holwell Road, West Carr Lane and Stockholm Road.
- Access to and from Aldi for customers, staff and deliveries will be via Sutton Road from Holwell Road / Sutton Road roundabout only, using manned and controlled access / egress at the Aldi exit point.
- Access to and from the Jet Garage only will be via Sutton Road from Ennerdale Roundabout, and will be signed in advance.
- Access to B&M Home & Garden Centre will be via Holwell Road and Oslo Road only and will again be signed in advance.
Councillor Dean Kirk, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways, said: “As part of the multimillion-pound Stoneferry improvement scheme, we have so far resurfaced approximately 2.11km of carriageway and 2km of footways.
“The project is currently on course for completion in late spring, after which motorists, businesses and residents in the Stoneferry area will be able to enjoy the full benefits of a much-improved road network.
“The work to Sutton Road will be carried over one weekend to ensure the disruption is reduced as much as possible.
“As always, noise mitigation has been a core consideration in the selection of equipment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
